Michael Vick Auction for Humane Society

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) – The eBay auction for 22 Michael Vick football cards, chewed up and slobbered on by two Missouri dogs, ended Wednesday as the winning bidder dished out $7,400 – with the money expected to be donated to the Humane Society.

Did you see this ebay auction? What a crazy thing to put on auction, but it has been awhile since I have seen any auction get this much press. At least it wasn’t an auction for “jesus found in background of my Michael Vick card”.

Weird yet entertaining at the same time!

Ouch for Owen Wilson

Actor, Owen Wilson, has withdrawn himself from his next movie, Tropical Thunder.  Reports come a day or so after a 911 call to his home revealed an apparent suicide attempt.

It has been reported that Wilson had “hillbilly herion” and crystal meth in his system.  I really liked movies he was in, but after this, bad day or not, I am not so sure I can look at him the same way.  Do you know what I mean?  He is still the same person, but tainted now.  I don’t know, hopefully he recovers and seeks help to regain his popularity.

Wal-Mart Dumps Dog Treats

What else?  Is there anything that we can safely eat, wear or look at anymore?  Send it to China, they make it cheap.  Does it make sense now that American made is the best way to go?  We have food products coming across the country, sometimes by boat, which takes 3 weeks to get here.  Like nothing is going to crawl into and die inside things like dog treats or other food products.

Bentonville-based Wal-Mart said this week it had stopped selling Chicken Jerky Strips from Import-Pingyang Pet Product Co. and Chicken Jerky from Shanghai Bestro Trading in July, after customers said the products sickened their pets.

Tests showed that 17% of the dog treats showed traces of melamine.  Oops.  Of course how would Walmart know this, right?  Well, I am sure they had nothing to do with it, my point is that we shouldn’t be counting on another country to make things that CAN BE MADE here.
