DDO or Dungeons and Dragons Online

ddo_logo.gifAs you know, I am a gamer.  Maybe not an extreme gamer, but I have been known to lay the smack down on a couple of games once or twice.  DDO.com or Dungeons and Dragons Online is one of them!  I love this game, have been playing it for a little over 1 year.  I have 4 characters that I use regularly, including my 11th level dwarf fighter, Limmrick Song.  Yup, I know, dwarf fighter, never seen that before.  But my guy is built to trip and then critically hit any enemy that gets in his way.

It’s really fun to play a fighter, lot’s of action.  I also have a 9th level wizard named Ignasio.  Playing a wizard is almost as fun as a fighter and of course way more fun that playing a cleric :)   I had a cleric and I just cannot get into the swing of things with that character.  Rangers, wizards, fighters and barbarians are just what I would rather play I guess.

www.ddo.com can be played all day and night long without a doubt.  Once in a while they will have special weekends where you are rewarded 50% more XP and +1 level added to the loot you find in treasure chests.  That’s when you are going to be playing all damn day and night, if you can handle it of course.

So, if you are a gamer as well, and play on the Argonesson server, look up Limmrick and I will be sure to get back to you about beating the heads of small animals with my +3 Flaming GreatAxe of Vertigo!

What do you think? LOL much fun to be had for all.

Sex Offenders on Facebook? Nah..

How could this be?  I read an article about New York tracking down sex offenders on the popular social networking website, Facebook.com.  That just doesn’t make any sense!  In case you didn’t catch it, the sarcasm is flying around here like mad.  Why are people surprised, if they are, that offenders like these men or woman are on sites like this?  You can find out just about anything you need to know in a short time and before you know it, strike up a conversation with a person that was a total stranger a minute ago.  Criminals are all idiots, many use their heads to stay out of trouble.  Since most sex offenders are sick in the head, they will do whatever it takes to get what they want.

This is only going to spark another “To Catch A Predator” series for online networking sites.  Half the profiles will be fake and there will be a 30 something cop sitting on the other side of the computer pretending to be a 14 year old girl or boy.  Hasn’t just about everyone seen Dateline by now?  How can there still be people out in the world that think they will get away with it all?  It’s beyond me, that’s for sure, but it does make for some real good TV watching!

Violent Crime on the Rise

Who do we blame this time?  Video games, single mothers of 5 children?  The school system?  Politics?  I don’t know, but violent crime is up again and on the rise from past years.  According to reports violent crime was up 2% last year, but even so, property crimes have dropped.  Does that make any difference?

Violent crime incidents — defined as homicide, rape, robbery and aggravated assault — have gone up 1.9% in 2006.  Homicides were up 1.8% also.  The violent crime rate is measured as incidents per 100,000 people.  The number peaked in the 1990′s and fell until 2005.

With all of that said, who do we blame?  I like to blame the single parents or the video games.  Rock-n-roll doesn’t work anymore, but the school system or movies is always a nice one to fall back on.  Or like in Milwaukee, it’s just too hot to not shoot someone.  Whatever the reason is, it’s not an excuse.
