Shoemoney.com asks “What is MY Edge?”
I thought about what Shoemoney said today. Asking people “What is your edge?“ And you know what? I haven’t been too pleased with the fact that I cannot find a way to send my blog. What direction do I go? I like to make money online, but there are about 3,000+ (shoe’s estimate) blogs about that. I occasionally pass along things and ideas that I have to better your website or blog. I have an interest in news, paranormal and reading other people’s blogs/websites.
The whole online “movement” has caught me 110%. I have had an ecommerce website for about 5+ years now, but only had ONE good year. Why you ask? Because I don’t have time to sit and figure the thing out myself. The ONE good year (over $100,000 in sales) was because that year I put everything I have learned into action. NO advertising, pure SEO. Not bad, right? But I haven’t been able to duplicate it. I changed hosts and switched code to php. That put up a whole new learning curve for me. I am willing to take it on, but it’s going to be awhile before I am 100% happy with the system again.
Besides that, where is this blog going? I rawked a PR 2 before the Google b*tchslap, had ONE post make me over $300, but really don’t have a single focus for this blog. It made me realize that this blog is going to be going nowhere if I can’t decide that. So, I thought I would ask my readers.
Upon reading some of the posts that I have on this blog, regardless of category, what would you say is the direction this blog has gone up to this point?
The first 3 people that reply, will be getting 25 entrecard credits (good at entrecard.com)each. Please leave your email so that I can contact you.
Link Love Warning
Watching various posts about Entrecard.com, I came across a message on my account regarding the “All cards link love“. If you haven’t seen a couple of these posts already, here, then you should take a look at it right away.
Link love is great, but there are better ways to get links to your blog. Participate in discussions regarding your blog topic is always a winner. When blogs participate in link love or meme’s or link trains, the blog owner may not realize what they are doing. You can read a super in depth post about this here.
Email Subscribers Need to Confirm
Recently I noticed that the subscribers to my blog has jumped a bit to 15! That’s actually a lot considering before this month I didn’t even want to show how many I had. Putting that aside, I thought I would check out my Feedburner account. I couldn’t believe what I found inside. The 15 brave souls that want to read my updates daily, are actually a small portion of the other 29 emails that haven’t confirmed. That’s right, if all confirmed I would have 44 email subscribers alone. To me that is a lot and I would certainly like to get them all to confirm.
But how do I do this you ask? Hmmm, I am not really sure. I have been searching Google for about an hour now in hopes of finding a couple ways that I can keep the subscribers confirming, but really haven’t found any worth trying or that aren’t just plain evil. So, I thought I would jot down a quick post regarding email subscribers to see if any of my readers could come up with something.
I am young to this blogging game yet, but I catch on very quickly! I will think of something eventually, because this will be on my mind until I do. When I finally decide that I found the right way to do it, I will post it for everyone to see. In the meantime, if you need to subscribe, you can do so here and don’t forget to confirm your email of course.
My Traffic Explosion!
You see that? My traffic just exploded from that CallYourPlay.com post. Almost as soon as the I hit the publish button, that post cruised to the front of Google Search. According to compete.com, my site had almost 4,000 visitors in November. That is just nuts. Considering it was really only for one post and my blog had only been live just under 3 months.
That just goes to show you that you will never know when the traffic comes, but you have to be ready for it at all times. Post on your blog like you have 10,000 visitors a day and you want to reach 20,000!
