I Read BlogaboutyourBlog.com
I am a regular reader at BlogAboutYourBlog. I think they have many excellent tips for a new blogger, as well as, some advanced tips for those that have been around awhile. I am writing this post to show appreciation for the information they have provided for me in my first 6 months as a blogger.
Everyday I get an email (subscribed to email updates) and there is very few times where the post isn’t very helpful. Tips about getting traffic, making money online, creating a blog brand or improving on your design. All of those things are very good information for when you are starting out and want to separate yourself from the pack.
Blogaboutyourblog is an excellent resource for bloggers that want to follow a real life example in the blogging world. The blog has been around about 1 year and there you can see, step-by-step, how everything is done to create a blog that people will want to read!
Don’t Forget Hosting for Your Blog
If you are thinking about setting up more than one blog at a time, you should really take a look at your hosting company.
First of all, do they allow multiple domains hosted on ONE account? Why is this important? Well, you might be able to host all of your blogs on ONE account and that would make things easier for you in terms of paying and managing your hosting.
Secondly, make sure that you can create enough databases. What does this mean? Well, if you are setting up Wordpress blogs you will need to have a database to go with each one. The hosting company that I use right now is Dot5hosting.com. They allow 25 domains on each account and up to 5 databases right now. They are in the process of upgrading everything to include unlimited domains and unlimited databases!
That is a lot of space and power for a blog host. I run multiple blogs and having the ability to host all my domains and databases in one place is a great help.
Third, always check to see if your host has an affiliate program. Most of them do and if so, you might as well sign up and promote the host that you use and get something in return for it.
I Think Entrecard is Good, But….

…how long will it be before gaming the system will be so easy that it drives down the value of using Entrecard? I have been reading a bunch of posts regarding the ways you can game Entrecard or use it “to your full advantage” and I start thinking that a good thing just got too good, too quick.
I really like the site, the set up, the system and even the concept, but I am afraid that this is another system for bloggers to “game”. The “serial droppers”, as they are called, can run from blog to blog via the Entrecard. Dropping their card and moving to the next via the ad that is placed on the card itself.
The content of your blog is rarely ever looked at for more than 10 seconds! Granted the advertising that you “bought” didn’t cost you any real money, but shouldn’t it still be worth something?
Bloggers come to Entrecard.com to get their blog noticed and to get traffic, right? But what good is traffic if it isn’t on your blog long? In the meantime you are “paying” 300+ credits to advertise on a blog with 50 or less subscribers, low PR or little traffic at all. Pay attention to the blog you are advertising on if you want real traffic at all. If it’s just a game for you, then there aren’t any worries, but if it turns into a game for too many people, Entrecard.com will suffer in the long run.
Do everyone a favor and don’t game the system. Take at least 2-3 minutes to read over the blog you are visiting, leave a comment, drop your card and leave a recommendation if you feel it’s worth it. That’s the only way the community will benefit from the Entrecard system.
