Real Rank is Better, For Me at Least

Regular readers of this blog know that I do paid posts for payperpost.com and that I lost my Google PR months ago. There have been various posts about why I don’t care about my PR and things of that nature.
Well, today I am posting to let you know about the new system that ranks blogs and I think they way it’s done is a more fair approach of ranking a blog’s popularity. Izea, the company behind payperpost.com and socialspark.com, have come up with Real Rank. Real rank is a system that measures how many unique visitors a blog gets and the weekly pageviews related to said blog.
Why do I think it’s better than PR? There is no buying or selling of Real Rank. A blog could have many visitors per day/week/year, but if they sell links, they get a big fat Google PR ZERO. With Real Rank, if you get that many visits you are ranked accordingly.
This blog has a Real Rank of 2042. In my category of marketing and advertising, that puts me at about #19 out of 57 blogs. I would say that isn’t all that bad. The new Real Rank system is also used in the recently released SocialSpark.com. Basically the Real Rank number qualifies you for posts and the lower the number the more you are going to get paid.
You can get a Real Rank at www.izearanks.com or join up at SocialSpark.com. To get one is free and you can see how you fare in your category. Even if you don’t do paid posts you can still see how your blog ranks.
Odds and Ends from this month
So far this month I haven’t been posting as much as I would like. I have been working on topics offline and trying to improve on my SEO for this blog. There are other projects that I have going on, like usual, that are starting to take more time right now.
I am working on a couple automated websites that are powered by eBay. Someone always said that it’s better to have 100 websites that make $1/day, than having 1 website that makes $100/day. Oh yeah, that’s everyone with a blog that says that.
Well, I am working on a couple of websites and right now it’s a battle to get them all SEO’d and to market them as best I can for now. I didn’t want to neglect this blog one bit, hence the odds and ends bit.
I have been reading a lot throughout the blogsphere about making money online blogs. Blah, blah, all the same, blah, blah, none are making money. Well, I just wanted to clarify that this blog is not about making money, not like my www.cookiemoney.com blog anyways, rather it is more of a journal of what I am learning as I roll through the affiliate marketing world as a noob, etc.
The money that I am making online is certainly NOT from this blog. It makes me peanuts right now compared to other projects I have going on and in the works. On this blog I talk about how to promote, market and make money with your affiliate products or networks in hopes that you learn what I did, only faster. The more you know the faster you make money.
In the meantime, I am having a new theme created for my blog and I hope to have a grand re-opening of my blog contest right after that. Stay tuned and subscribe if you want to be a part of the action!
15% off at Text-Link-Ads.com
Looks like our friends over at Text-Link-Ads.com are having a little sale on links this month. Go ahead and shop around for the best links you can find and use the coupon code: april, at checkout to get 15% off your order!!
Text-Link-Ads.com allows you to buy links on other websites. This way you can get a link on a blog/website that is more popular, for a price of course, but you can get one nonetheless. And with a 15% off coupon you can get one even cheaper.
Part of marketing, or trying a new marketing technique/platform, is taking advantage. When a company like TLA provides you with a chance to try their service, you take it. There is little to no loss to you for giving it a try and you don’t have to pay FULL prices
This Week in Review
So this week I haven’t been posting all that much. I have been cruising around the Bloggeries forum, checking up on my Google stats, making small changes to this blog, working on the design of CookieMoney.com and trying to decide whether of not to send this blog to another domain.
As you can see it does seem like a lot of things to do, but I really didn’t seem busy at all. A couple of hours each day to take care of tasks is all I need. If I go ahead and get crazy for like 4-5 hours, I start to get off on tangents that never lead back to where I started in the first place.
What I learned this week
I started another project this week with CookieMoney.com. It was brought up by some guys over at the Bloggeries forum that we start blogs at the same time and see who’s can sell for more after a 2 month period. I thought what the heck, how can it hurt, I might make a couple hundred bucks from it.
What did hurt is realizing that if I ever wanted to sell this blog, I couldn’t. Why not? The domain name is a nickname of mine and doesn’t really have anything to do with the affiliate, internet and general marketing areas I like to touch base with. I think that if I want to make a professional blog I will have to get a domain that matches my content and post my little heart out about it.
I do not and will not call myself an expert, there are plenty of other blogs for that. But I can post my experiences online with blogging and marketing my blogs and websites. I feel that a more personal touch like that would mean more to the readers of my blog, if there are any left of course.
So, I think over the next month or so I will be looking into changing my domain name and pushing all this wonderful information to it. That will leave sukosaki.info a springboard to that new domain for a while, but that is something that I can deal with.
What needs to happen before I switch
I would like to get my own design. I would also like to learn to create my own design from scratch. Why? Well, it will be 100% unique then and I could sell it to make some money on the side, which isn’t that bad.
Another thing is that I have to find a domain name that matches my content, which will NOT be easy in this niche, but I am determined to find one. I will post how that search goes later this coming week.
