A TurboCharger for MY Car? Well…

I like to look at “souped up” cars and see the amount of work that is put into project cars.  When I had my first car, when I was 16, I did think about getting all kinds of add-ons for the engine, but a busboy income doesn’t get you far.

I always liked smaller cars, they made me feel like I was driving a go kart, and I loved the way some of them look.  When I first saw a VW turbo, I wanted one in the worst way. I would have gone into debt without any doubt as a 17 year old, but it was something I would have worked for.

I think if you are shopping for a place to get your car the best add-ons and I would visit turbochargerpros.com.  I just found the web site and I think you would be able to find exactly what you need for any type of car.  They have plenty of products and a Learning Center as well.

Green Bay Packers Want Farve to Stay Home

Now that Brett Farve has decided he wants to play football, Ted Thompson of the Green Bay Packers wants him to stay away from training camp.  Believe it or not, but they do not want him around and creating a major circus around training camp and creating a distraction for those that are trying to get into a groove.

I don’t really feel bad for Farve at all because he really shouldn’t have retired.  There is no way that he really wanted to at the end of last season.  He is young enough to get at least 5 years of interceptions and touchdown trophies, easily.

I think the Packers are doing the right thing, but if they are going to let Farve go to another team they are going to have to get something special in return.  If the Packers screw up any sort of trade, I will be watching the Giants once again :)

Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk: Good Cause

Sponsored by Alzheimer's Walk
When my grandfather passed away about 10 years ago, he was already quite far along with Alzheimer’s disease. It was sad to see how it affected his lifestyle and when he didn’t really remember anything for more than 5 minutes, it actually became frustrating. Since I was able to deal with my grandfather I felt it was ok to mention the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk.

With walks in over 600 communities, people take a break from their normal lives, usually in the fall, to walk for a good cause. The walk is one of the nation’s largest events that is held to raise awareness and funds for a world without Alzeimer’s. If you are a participant, I thank you, as well as my grandfather.

It is important to raise awareness about this disease and the funds are always a great help. Without funds, we are unable to find the cure or medication’s that can help one beat the sickness that is Alzeimers. Remember, if you have time to walk this fall for a good cause, check to see if your community has the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk.

Save Money: Buy Glasses Online

I have been blessed with relatively decent eye insurance where I work.  For a small fee they cover 100% of glasses OR contacts one time per exam year.  I like that, but I cannot believe how much glasses can cost without that insurance.

I started looking online to see if there was any option to buy glasses online.  Not just frames, lenses too.  To me it would only make sense to get them both.  Otherwise, you could just go to your nearest thrift shop, find a pair of vintage frames and have lenses put in them.  My search was for frames AND lenses at a savings of 50% or more to be worth it.

Since I have poor vision in the distance I will be wearing glasses the rest of my life.  So, why not save money at the same time?  The first thing I did was search Google, like always, and I was surprised to find many web sites that sell glasses AND lenses online.  With a quick skim of those sites I noticed that the ordering process and account setup was quite easy.

What you do need from your eye doctor is the prescription of your last eye exam, which they should send you on request and you might want an old pair of glasses to measure since you won’t be able to try on the pair you want to buy.

Once you have all of the information, take a look at 39dollarglasses.com and find a frame you like.  The site works so nice and takes you to the next step in the process when you are ready.  You can add many different types of lenses to your frames, too.  The price ranging from no cost for regular lenses to $119 for the best of the best lenses they offer.

The frames and lenses that I chose brought me to a cost of $89.90.  With an average cost of over $200, my cost to buy glasses online was easily a savings of 50% or more!

I am happy, now I have to place my order and wait until they arrive.  I will post more once they do.  Just another way to save a buck or MORE!
