Back to School Brings So Many Things, Organize Them

With all of the children back at school and the college kids just getting the cobwebs out of their heads, Dymo wants to promote their label printers to show how it can make your school days easier.

If you don’t know what Dymo is, they have many products related to labels and printers.  You can get printers for address labels, or just labels to organize things around the home.  That is where it comes in handy with school work, notebooks, folders and things like this.

If you own a DYMO Labelmaker, you know exactly what I mean by how easy it can make organizing.  If you have a large family with children of all ages, in different years of schooling, a label maker might be helpful in keeping tabs on folders and notebooks for the kids.  If they are always leaving stuff lye around, and we know they are, then you can at least put a label on it for identification.

As an adult and always selling things on eBay, I loved using my Dymo label printer for mailing labels and return address labels for the packages that I would send out.  It made things so much easier and the software that runs the label maker is easy to use, you are almost at the point and click stage.  Before you know it you have labels printing and you are back to doing family things.

Coooold Weather is Here

Just before I decide to go to bed for the night, yes I know it’s 2AM, I decide to check the weather for the next day or two.  When I call up the website for the National Weather Service and input my zip code, I was shocked to see that it was 45 degrees outside!

Yes I know it’s only October September, but this is a tad ridiculous.  The weather this summer has just been great.  With only about one week of 100+ degrees, this summer has been cool and it only tells me that this winter is going to be a long one.

Usually when it’s this cold, this early, it will be a long winter and Christmas vacation is going to seem like intermission.  So, as we buckle down and sweat at the thought of getting the furnace tuned up, other parts of the country are enjoying hot days or major hurricanes.  I guess you just cannot win against Mother Nature.

Safety Guide for the Internet

With the amount of people on the internet rising every year, the dangers increase as well.  For adults, it’s not as big of a deal as it might be for a child.  That is why internet safety for children is so important. You can follow a couple of things closely with the ABC’s.

The ABC’s go something like this:

  1. A is for Adult’s Only – with over 4 million adult sites on the internet, you might want to be 100% aware of what your child is exposed to online.
  2. B is for Beware – computers are not the only thing that can access the internet.  Many technology gadgets these days can get access to the internet wirelessly.  Make sure you know what these items are and how they are getting access.
  3. C is for Check Often - make sure that you know how your computer internet filter works and if it can be bypassed.  Most can be and sometimes it doesn’t take much.
