Ben & Jerry’s Schweddy Balls Ice Cream is a huge hit

Have you heard of Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream? Do you know what all the flavors are? With such a popular line of ice cream flavors like Chubby Hubby and Red Velvet Cake you might start to remember that you saw them in the frozen treats section of your local grocery store, or even Wal-Mart for that matter.

These days you get all kinds of fun flavors for your ice cream, but the latest to take the country by storm, and even cause a little uproar, is the brand new Ben & Jerry’s Schweddy Balls Ice Cream. That is correct, you read that right, Ben & Jerry’s has crossed the line and with the new season of Saturday Night Live on the air, you can bet the name of the ice cream brings most people back to one of the most memorable SNL skits of all time. Everybody will remember the time that Alec Baldwin appeared on the radio show, “Delicious Dish” with his new Schweddy Balls that come in a variety of flavors. Throughout the skit Baldwin’s character, Pete Schweddy, talks about all the balls his bakery makes and ends the skits with “No one can resist my Schweddy Balls”.

Even though we are huge fans of ice cream, as I am sure you are as well, the American Family Association has decided that they are not very big fans of novelty named ice creams and do not want them to appear anywhere near their freezer section. The group, One Million Moms, wants to ban the sale of the ice cream and sent a letter to all members requesting assistance in the boycott of Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream. In the letter, the group wrote:

“In the past, Ben & Jerry’s has released controversial ice creams, like a special edition of Chubby Hubby called Hubby Hubby last year which celebrated gay marriage. It seems that offending customers has become an annual tradition for Ben & Jerry’s. The ice cream is being released in a limited batch, which means it will be distributed nationwide but only for three or four months. If it proves popular, another batch might be forthcoming, but we hope not.”

Commenting on other flavors that were recently released, but not coming right out and talking gay marriage, the group is trying to get members on their side, even though they must be sure the ice cream is hard to resist, even if it is named Schweddy Balls.

The Schweddy Balls is actually “fudge-covered rum and malt balls” and even though I have not been able to find it locally, there are some reviews posted online, like right here.

Paypal.com Makes Collecting Money Easier Than Ever

Do you sell on eBay? Make graphics for websites as a side job? Have a self published book you sell on your own website? The reason that I ask is because in all of those situations, money exchanges hands and the easier that happens the better it is for both seller and buyer.

Paypal.com makes this process easier. The seller needs to have an account with Paypal.com to accept money, but the buyer does NOT need to have a Paypal account. Right now, if you are the buyer and you want to pay with your credit card, you will not be asked to sign up for a free account just to do so. This has taken one step away from the buying process. Not that long ago, Paypal would have you sign up for a free account, attach it to a bank account and have you transfer funds to your Paypal account, just to complete the purchase.

Now, the process is so simple, it’s really not a bad way to accept money for things, especially online. There are fees involved, as always, but when you think about how fast you can get your money, Paypal is one of the best options. I have been a user for over 10 years now and have never even had to contact customer service for any situation. I sold items on eBay, transferred money to other accounts of mine, paid bills (when they had that option), paid for subscriptions, sent money to family and friends and never really had any issues.

I like the system, the user interface is easy to understand and when you say “paypal” to anyone, they almost always know what you are talking about. The small fees the charge for accepting funds is really nothing more than you’d expect from a company that is handling all the “work” while you collect the money. Some have given up on Paypal because of the fees, while others accept Paypal as the only form of payment. If you Google “Paypal Reviews” or “Paypal rip-offs” you can get a feel for some of the issues others might be having.

I recommend the service, since it’s free and so very easy to use. If you are thinking about buying or selling online, I would say check out Paypal.com first.

Oprah Winfrey Finally Calls It Quits – Talk Show to End in 2011

After only a quarter of a century, it appears that Oprah is gonig to call it quits and quit the daytime talk show racket in September 2011. Of course, I am not going to say that she will disappear after that, I mean, she is a media queen and can market herself in just about any manner. Why would she give up her “bread and butter”?

Oprah has made a name for herself and at one time was the only African American billionaire in the world. She has climbed the ranks over the years, gained and lost some weight, had special guests and even more special events on her show.

She has come a long way from being brought up in poverty and losing her only son in infancy, to becoming one of the most influencial woman of all time. Just watch her show, people flock to buy any product (or book) that she mentions, no matter what.

You Better Pay Up – Couple Arrested for Not Paying Gratuity

In an article from yesterday, a couple in Philly was arrested because they chose NOT to pay the 18% gratuity on a check at a local pub. The couple says the service was garbage and they shouldn’t “have” to pay it, just cause it’s on the check.

One

I think this is crap. I think that if they were given bad service, like they said, they shouldn’t have to pay anything. Why is a tip added anyways? Is the place paying more than minimum wage and have to raise the wage to cover that cost?

Two

I was talking with a friend of mine about this and agree that people that get dealt bad service should NOT have to pay any “required” tip. They should be able to pay for the food and any tip they feel comfortable with.

Three

Usually, in my opinion the server gets what they work for. If you are leaving a “required” tip that has been made up by people in the past, I think you are just telling the server you will tip them no matter the service. Part of the reason the service industry has taken a crap.

Erin Andrews Hotel Video is Lame and So is The Guy That Made It!

The man arrested for making a video of ESPN reporter, Erin Andrews, is a total douche. Of course, there are a ton of people getting all queer about selling images and videos of celebrities to sites like TMZ and shows like Entertainment Tonight, but this one is just homo.

The “man”, Michael David Barrett, 47, of Westmont, Ill., is this 110% regular guy according to news reports and some are having a hard time with the charges of interstate stalking and trying to sell nude videos of Erin Andrews. According to Fox Sports:

Several TV networks and newspapers had aired clips or printed screen grabs from the videos of Andrews in July. The 31-year-old has covered hockey, college football, college basketball and Major League Baseball for ESPN since 2004 and was named “sexiest sportscaster” by Playboy magazine in 2008 and 2009.

I don’t look as any reporter different from the next. Either way, she is a professional and has perfectly leveraged her looks into a great career as a model/sport reporter/peephole nudist. For one, who the hell would have even tried to get a video from the outside of a peephole, knowing it would work? And two, why is she standing completely nude in the view of any window or door? I know that it’s her hotel room and she can do what she wants, but what if there were cameras setup by the hotel employees?

The Internet is Only Safe If You Are NOT Connected To It

You know what I mean right? The most recent attack that almost killed Twitter and sent it’s 45 million users running for answers. The internet is so much fun, or it can be, but let’s not forget all about the crap that comes along with it. There are plenty of ways to protect yourself from bad internet related things, but do you know what can really happen?

What exactly happened in that attack?

Well it is known as a denial-of-service attack where tons of requests are sent to a website ultimately shutting it down for sometimes hours at a crack. According to the NYTimes.com website:

“Rather, he said, at about 10:30 a.m. E.S.T., millions of people worldwide received spam e-mail messages containing links to Twitter and other sites. When recipients clicked on the links, those sites were overwhelmed with requests to access their servers. “It’s a vast increase in traffic that creates the denial of service,” he said.”

Even though Twitter had a handle on the situation, they were still trying to get things back to 100% normal a day or two later.

There have also been recent cases of fraud involving Facebook. The way this one works is quite simple and can catch even the web savvy if they aren’t paying attention. A fraudster will hack into a Facebook account and start updating friends by stating they are in some sort of trouble (jail, medical bills,etc) in hopes that other family members or friends will pony up the bills. You laugh now, but it happens and there was a couple in Wisconsin that fell for it to the tune of $19,000. Bet they wished they never had the internet now!

You have no doubt been a victim of a website that actually downloads a virus right to your computer. Right! Most people joke about adult sites that bog down your CPU, but what most don’t realize is that some children websites do the same. You see, children don’t care what the “pop-ups” say, they just want to play games, etc. So when something gets in there way “Hey download this thing now and get blah, blah, blah.” the next thing you know is you cannot login to your account and your daughters knocked up (sorry, had to throw that in there).

Don’t forget identity theft. You know that one website you found where you can get that set of brake pads for 75% off? Remember, it was like 3 in the morning and you were determined to save money on that project no matter what, so you turned to the power of the web. Well, you think the brake pads are coming, but in the meantime, some crook is running around the web with all of your information (credit card included) buying up all the extenz he can get his hands on.

You won’t even know it until it’s too late, but isn’t that just part of being connected to the internet? No, it doesn’t have to be that way at all. Do your homework and even when those prices seem to good to be true, stick to website that have authority.

Let’s not for SPAM. Everyone loves SPAM, but not the kind the ends up in your inbox every week. There is still money in the SPAM business even after all of these years. “Get your pills online, today”, “Make your lover scream in bed”, “Get a better mortgage rate” and the list goes on. There are still people that click those links and sign up for bogus products and services. All those clicks and signups are making someone money and usually taking a bit from you in the process. I work with people that talk about FREE LAPTOPS and other things of that nature and I just sit back and laugh. If you weren’t “connected” you wouldn’t be wasting so much time with these types of things.

Let’s not forget about the SPAM you get from sites like Craigslist, LivePerson, etc. These spammers will usually reply to an ad you have posted in hopes that you will email them back with your real email address. Thus, they are now able to collect and sell that email address to the highest bidder (trust me, they are out there). Craigslist is a valuable classified site, but now that you cannot get an ad on the site without a weeks worth of SPAM to follow, I don’t see much value in it at all.

Playing MMORPG’s can be a fun way to let off some steam, unless of course you are being bothered by gold spammers and power levelers the entire time. This is just another avenue that fraudsters have found a way to make a fun thing, not so fun after all. What? You aren’t bothered by that on the games? Well, then I am sure that internet bullies are what bothers you. The next time your son or daughter talk about being bullied online, take them seriously, it’s happening all the time.

All of these are great reasons why you are way better off online, when you are not connected to the internet. Have a good day!

Michael Jackson Died and My Facebook Discussions About

Ok, so we have all heard that Michael Jackson has died, right? Well, I find it hard to understand what would make anyone (besides immediate family) cry uncontrollably about it. Don’t get me wrong, his life was a rollercoaster and to see an American icon die is never a good thing. I just cannot think of a single person that I DO NOT know personally that would warrant that type of response from me emotionally.

After hearing the story from 10 different people and television stations, I log onto Facebook to check out the daily hub-bub between my friends. One was wondering if Jesus would get the same kind of reaction from the masses, as Michael Jackson is getting so far. The discussion was intelligent for the most part and it really was mentally stimulating. Most agreed that Jesus would get the same “following” if he died in this time.

Others were trying to backup the fact that Michael Jackson is an icon and known worldwide. That doesn’t mean that Jesus isn’t known, but he is NOT worldwide. There were comments that it was pitiful to honor such a sick person, a “pedophile”, drug addict and all of these things are correct. But in today’s society, celebs and stars take on another roll and are honored with much more passion.

I think it has to do with the fact that celebs are “seen” by everyone and children and young adults have NEVER connected with Jesus the same ways they have connected with a movie star or celebrity these days.

New Facebook Application – Beat Your Time at Friend Matchup

I have a new facebook application that I would like to share with you. FriendMatchup is a simple application takes your friends images and arranges them behind blue boxes on the screen. As soon as you click on one box, the timer starts and you are racing the clock in a game of memory.

You are then supposed to match 2 of the same images and the timer will stop when you are completed. Once you have finally matched all of them up, your time is posted on your profile in the sidebar for your friends to see. If you go fast enough you will be named a “genius” and if you are too slow, well, let’s just say you don’t want to be called slow
