How to Use a Search Engine

Do you type a domain name into a search engine to go to that website?  Why wouldn’t you use the address bar for that?

There are so many people that will go to www.google.com, or have it set as their homepage, type in ebay.com and press enter, to GO TO EBAY.COM.  Isn’t that strange?  Maybe it’s just me, but I really thought the internet was much easier to use than that.

The reason that I make all the fuss is simple.  A LOT of traffic to this blog is from search engines and believe it or not, this blog is found by keywords like “subwayfreshbuzz.com enter codes” and “pepsirockband.com”.

Now, I have optimized this blog to gain such traffic, but it wasn’t intended to get traffic via DOMAIN NAMES as keywords.  Why are people using Google to find subwayfreshbuzz.com, when they actually just typed in the domain name itself?  What happens is that my blog is ranking for these domain names because I put up a “review post” for the promotion or contest.

When users want to go to the promo site to enter codes or check out the prizes, they type the domain name into Google search and hit enter.  Guess what?  Now, this blog is listed FIRST, above the actual subwayfreshbuzz website.  Isn’t that a bit strange?  I rank higher for keywords that mean nothing to this site, than the site that is actually called SubWayFreshBuzz.com.  Here is a screen shot to prove it!

Well, in the meantime, I just wanted to let all the users that do NOT know to search for a website, that they can easily get to any webpage they see listed on the web, TV or hear on the radio, simply by using the address bar available on most browsers today.

You Want Green Living? Then You Want Switzerland!

1021I don’t really think about too many places outside of the United States, only because I do not plan to ever visit them.  But the more I read about Switzerland, the more interesting it sounds.  I have read recently that Switzerland is one of the environmentally friends countries in the world.

Sustainable Switzerland has easy access to trains, bike friendly travel options, green friendly hotels/resorts and an abundance of organic products.  With the way things are these days, you are certainly going to want to be as green as much as you can.  It’s nice to read about countries doing their part in keeping the Earth a cleaner, greener, friendlier place.

There is a lot to be taught by Switzerland.  In some of the larger cities where I live, you see a bunch of public transportation, but none of it being used.  Empty buses and cabs can be seen throughout the day.  This causes prices to go up and cuts in the public transportation budget, year after year.  Eventually, the option will just go away and the public will be stuck with nothing.

Then you will hear some complaining, lol.  But not in Switzerland.  They seem to have their heads screwed on just right as far as the country goes.  I think that if I were to visit I would want to take full advantage of organic products and long scenic bike rides.

I would take as many notes as I could, so that when I got home I could educate others in ways to keep their lives more environmentally friendly.

Mislabeled Toys at Walmart – Buy Made in America

Today I went to Walmart to get some sort of beach toys for my fiances nephew.  I figured this was going to be an easy trip to get some cheap, almost disposable, toys for the little guy.  He is 6.  Once we finally got him away from the new Transformers and into the right aisle, he picked out a bucket of toys that would be fun to play with in the sand.

There was a shovel, bucket, sifter, fish template and a sand castle making unit.  Cool, all of the toys needed to keep the guy happy for a little while at least.  Then I noticed the “label” of the toys mentioned you could make your own dinasaur footprints with a specific template in the kit.  By the way, the kit was called a Dino Beach Bag, so I started to look for that part of the kit.  The little guy loves to learn about dinosaurs and things like that, so it would be totally cool if he could add his own footprints to the sand.

Well, there wasn’t anything, I mean ANYTHING, dinosaur related in the “bag” (which was actually a basket with handles on it).  Isn’t that very strange?  I mean, I know it makes no difference other than it’s false advertising, or sort of deceptive, but I started to think of the reasons it might be that way on the product.

I came up with a couple reasons, and even though I don’t think they are valid, they might be possible.

  1. Maybe the manufacturer made a mistake
  2. Maybe the manufacturer uses the same exact labeling on every product that is similar thinking nobody will even notice
  3. Maybe that’s just the way it is.  The product was made in Mexico.  But maybe they think people shopping at Walmart will just BUY without actually looking.

Since I am a firm believer in keeping it real in the United States, it bothered me enough to take a photo and post about it online.  What reasons can you come up with?  And by the way, this wasn’t the only kit like it at the store.  All the remaining items like it on the shelf were labeled the same way.

GetHeavenly.com: Best in Woman’s Fashion

Looking for the best in woman’s fashion?  How about the most affordable prices possible?  GetHeavenly.com has exactly what you need when looking for Discount Clothing online.

With school in full swing, why not treat yourself to some Cheap Clothing and enjoy the savings you will find for top notch quality clothing.  Back to school shopping doesn’t have to be expensive, that’s why GetHeavenly.com has a limited time discount of 10% on your back to school purchase.  Everything that you see on the website is $17.95 or less!  You cannot beat that anywhere else.

I have gone through the site and found two items that caught my eye.  Of course, they are NOT for me, but my fiance would love these items.  The prices are exceptional, but I haven’t really be able to find a decent variety in sizes.  With so many different shapes and sizes in the world, you would think that a store would carry whatever they could in all types of clothing.  It sucks taking a look at a top that you like, but only to find out that small is the only available size.

Other than that, the website is easy to navigate and the prices are awesome.  If you can find what you want, you will not be paying an arm and a leg for quality clothing.
