Brett Farve of the Minnesota Vikings. Just Doesn’t Sound Right.

favre

I have lived in Wisconsin my whole life (about 30 years) and there are few things, other than drunk driving, that you can associate with the state of Wisconsin. One thing has stood out in the last 15 years for sure though. It happens to be a pro football player by the name Brett Farve!

I know that everyone is sick of hearing it and belive me, all of us in Wisconsin are on the same boat. What a jerk to “quit”, comeback, “quit” and comeback!  I could care less why the Packers couldn’t keep him around or have him back, I just don’t like the back and forth of all the drama.  I know that he is one of the best players the NFL has ever seen, but that doesn’t make it any better in my opinion.

I will have fun watching him play again and I really hope that he either goes easy on the Packers or kicks their butt big time.  The one issue that I do have is how healthy he really is to play, again.  The kid hasn’t had a major concussion yet, like the greats Montana and Steve Young have at the end of their careers.  What if this happens to Farve and it puts him in his place?

It just might be one of those, best or worst decisions ever made.

Michael Vick to the Eagles With One Year Contract

As sad as it sounds to some people, I was really hoping that NOBODY would sign Michael Vick this year.  I know the talent and all that crap, but come on, let’s make a point with this guy.  Brutalizing animals in the way that he did, he should still be in prison.  Not to mention that I am sure he was betting on the dog fights, which, in my opinion, puts him in the same boat as Pete Rose.

Gambling on anything “sport” related should be taken very seriously and regardless of what any football team “needs” right now, I still think Vick was better off learning a lesson and not playing NFL football at all.

I love my dog and 3 cats and I just cannot fathom what is going through a person’s mind when they let two dogs go in a cage until one isn’t moving anymore.  What type of person must that be to not feel like what they are doing is NOT right?

I guess we’ll see what happens, in the meantime, I really hopes that he messes up and at the same time teaches the NFL that he was never really gonna change to begin with.  At least he will not be  in the starting quartback role, this year.

2009 Home Run Derby

Another home run derby passes us by and it looks like our pride and joy, Prince Fielder, is the winner.  Not only did he have the most home runs in the contest, he also had 4 out of the 5 longest homeruns.

Prince Fielder has made watching baseball fun again.  But I always laugh when he is on base and there are hitters coming up  behind him.  LOL, he tries to “motor” around those bases, but it must be tough getting a body like his moving quickly.

Nonetheless, Fielder is the 2009 home run champ and man did he smash a couple of those hits.  Hopefully we get to see some of that in the 2nd half of the season coming up.

Milwaukee Brewers Really Making it Tough to be a Fan!

This past month or more, I have been to 2-3 Brewer games.  I like the atmosphere, even if they lose.  We have bleacher seats in right field and usually are quite comfortable in the shade.  That, however, is never the problem with going to the game.  It’s more about how they are playing the game that bothers me.

This past Sunday, we went again and they played the Dodgers.  Now, I expect the Dodgers to win because they are one of the best teams in baseball this year.  The issue is that when the Brewers are leading the game at any point, why can’t they finish it that way?

Sunday’s game started out just like most of the others, a couple of runs for the opponent in the first couple innings and the Brewers cannot even manage a hit.  Although, they weren’t hitting the ball, they are leaving runners on base that have been patient enough to gain a walk.  Leaving runners on base is one of the worst habits they have coming into the All Star break.

Nevertheless, the Brewers lost, but really did start to make it exciting around the 7th inning when they decided to get the bats going.  The game finished with the Brewers losing 7 to 4 to the best team in the league.

Still a nice way to spend a Sunday, but it would sure be nice to see a win, at least while I am there.
