Customer Service Jobs Must Suck
Lots of people deal with customer service folks everyday. That is not as bad as the ONE customer service person that deals with MANY irate, upset, ignorant, pushy and overall rude customers. If you were paid for the amount of stress the job puts on you, customer service agents could make $1 million a year. I bring this up because I am on the phone with my banks NON-STOP. Payment missed, but not really, account number wrong, but not really and other things that somehow the super computer has screwed up. Getting charged fees that are for a situation you have no control over, or is the banks fault is my all-time favorite.
I get upset with customer service, but also realize that you talk to a different person each time you call India a customer service number and they “don’t all know your story”. But shouldn’t they? Each time you call it’s recorded into your account the reason they called or you called, the outcome of the call and etc. Why can’t the next poor guy that calls, 15 minutes later, read ahead and see that you were just called and the account is the most up-to-date that it can be right now?
I love hearing the same questions over and over and before them, they ask, “So that I can update your account, what was the reason for missing one payment?”. The same reason that I missed the payment last month! (If in fact I actually missed it) WTF. I have Washington Mutual right now for my home loan. I take money from my paycheck and it goes into my WaMu Free Checking account automatically every single week. At the end of the month I transfer the money needed from checking to mortgage. Worked great ONE MONTH! Then all of a sudden they have incorrect account numbers and have to call the bank to verify funds. The bank?? It’s Washington Mutual too! Why can’t they just check it on their end? How can the banks be two separate banks that aren’t allowed to check balances across accounts?
I don’t know, I guess that’s why I make the honest living I make and Washington Mutual makes a living by screwing people. Click here to see more people with my opinion.
