Don’t Quit Your Day Job

23260512.jpgNext time you think that you found the best way to make money online, don’t even think about quiting your day job.  Why is that you ask?  Well, do you know what it costs to insure yourself and/or family?  Are you aware of all the tax information you will need to keep track of?  There is a lot of things that change once you have gotten away from the “daily grind”.  Here are a couple of things, that I know about, that you can expect when and if you make it big and quit the day job from hell.

  1. Get all your assets in order.  Getting money for things will not only revolve around your income (whatever that would be), but all the things you own will also be looked at.  Banks are not going to risk any money on people that are self employed, simply because that can go away as fast, if not faster, than a real job.
  2. Get a good/trustworthy accountant.  Who can you trust to handle your money?  Probably nobody, but in the end you might not have anytime to manage it efficiently yourself either.  Talk to friends, family, partners and find a good person which you can trust to handle all the money you have coming in AND going out.
  3. Update legal documents like your will.  Sometimes you just never know what is going to happen.  Being at a 9 to 5 is sometimes safer than taking a middle of the day trip to your local eatery and getting broadsided by someone in rush hour lunch traffic.  I know it’s extreme, but think about it.

This is just a quick list of things to remember.  There are money others, but these 3 might slip your mind the next time you are planning on giving your boss the ol’ heave-ho.
