With a last-minute vote by the Senate on Oct. 15, the U.S. Congress has designated the third week of October (Oct. 15 to 21 this year) as “National Teen Driver Safety Week,” urging citizens nationwide to stage and partake in appropriate activities. The House had introduced its version in June and passed it Sept. 5.

Do you know what this means? The post office gets the Friday off this week! Just kidding, I don’t think it really means anything. Can Hallmark market this one? Not really sure, but off the top of my head, I can’t think of any catchy cards they could whip up in time for this week.  All kidding aside, the main reason for this was to help push for awareness and lessen the affect of teen driving related deaths in the fall time.  Help support the cause and talk to your teen about driving safe.
