In addition to this blog I run some other sites, including an ecommerce website.  As most of my readers know, ecommerce can be very touchy when it comes to people making a big ticket purchase with a credit card that has been stolen.  In an instance that happened to my about 4 years ago a stolen credit card was used to make a purchase from my website.  Basically, it went unnoticed until the real owner of the card saw her statement.

In the end, she made what is known as a “charge back” on that purchase.  My credit card processor, at the time, allowed the charge back even with sufficient evidence from myself regarding the ship dates, tracking and other information and I was stuck with the bill.  The crook get away with a nice flat panel TV and I was out about $1300.

My point is that if you use credit, debit or online banking, you will want to make sure that you are protected.  What a better way to be protected than to have lifelock.
