You read that just right! According to the website “Life is Short. Have an Affair“, at least, that’s what they say. I am not real sure about this service, but when they had the president and creator of the site on The Tyra Banks Show and that also brought about some interesting comments.
I am not really sure how I feel about the company, but the CEO put it pretty simple. They just created a place where people didn’t have to lie about being married or wanting to be with other people outside of their marriage. He claimed that most people would lie on other dating sites and you really never knew what the deal was. With the Ashley Madison Agency you knew what and who you were dealing with.
I battled with the whole premise of the site, but really it comes down to this; the % of people actually looking for an affair is small. Most users, in my opinion, are just looking to spice up the love life they have with additional people. It sounds much better when I put it that way, doesn’t it?
It only takes a minute or two to sign-up and it’s 100% free to do so. Once I was inside the site, I noticed they have picked a bunch of profiles that matched my location. Not a bad way to start my search. The first thing I wanted to do was update my profile and then see what types of advanced searching I could do on this site.
Advanced search can be done by:
- Profile Number
- Last Time on Site
- Location to You
- Ethnic Background
- What Limits They Have
- Age Groups
just to name a few. So you see, you can actually narrow your searches quite nicely. This will help if you are looking for a specific situation of course. Most couples might just be looking for a “third” and with the AshleyMadison Advanced Search, this is possible.
100% Free? I Doubt It
Well, you would be right. The site is FREE to “join”, but there are a couple of different ways that you can spend money on the site. Buying credits is one way and it can unlock some nice features for you on the website.
- The lowest package (Introductory) gets you 100 credits for $49.00.
- The “Elite” package gets you 500 credits for $79.00 and promotes your status to “Enhanced”.
- The most expensive package they have is the “Affair Guarantee” that gets you 1000 credits and the 100% Affair Guarantee.
Now that might seem like a lot of money, but the benefits with each package are certainly worth it.
- Message any member for only 5 credits! Every message after the first is FREE.
- Get a 3o or 60 minute chat session for 30 and 60 credits, respectively.
- Send AshleyGifts, or virtual gifts, for 20, 30 or 50 credits.
So, even if you went with the lowest package of $49, you could email 3 or 4 users (15-20 credits), send one AshleyGift (20 credits) and have ONE 60 minute chat session. What a steal and all for only $49.
Summary
Overall, I think the site is pretty easy to use and if you are looking for something specific, you WILL find it in short order. The pictures are easy to see, profiles are full of information and some of the features on the site are nice in addition to the site being FREE to join!
