WPAuctions.com – 250 Word Review Winner!
Recently I ran an auction with a new plugin called WPAuctions, from www.wpauctions.com. To my surprise, I had a couple of bids in no time. One of them happened to be one of the developers responsible for bringing us this cool auctions plugin. You may also know him from everybodygoto.com.
So, the auction was for a 250 word review and I am going to write up WPAuctions.com.
I have been on the look out for a plugin that will run an auction for me since I started my blog back in August of ’07. Finally, while searching Google about 3 weeks ago, I found WpAuctions.com. On the site they had a beta sign up form and some information about the plugin. They also had a widget running in the sidebar for you to see and test out. At first glance it looked extremely promising. So, I signed up for beta.
As I waited for my beta testing email, I anticipated how I could use this plugin. Many things crossed my mind and, just like this review, I thought about using it to gain traffic and subscribers.
The setup was super easy, download, activate and add an auction from the backend of wordpress. Within minutes I had my first auction running. Not long after that I saw that I could register on the WpAuctions.com website for “Live Auctions“. This an area on the site that allows other buyers to see what people have to sell at auction. With ONE click you are brought right to the auction to bid on it.
The Live Auctions area shows you the website name, what is on auction and the current price for that item. Oh yeah, it also shows you the end date of the auction. When you go to place a bid on any auction widget, you would click the “more..” information or “bid now” button and see the popup displayed below.

On this popup window you will see many options and information. The most important part of this is that you use your paypal email address when bidding. You don’t want your payment reminder to go to an email that isn’t locked into your paypal.com account. It will just make it a pain the butt for you later. As soon as your bid is placed you will then see it updated and everything will be good to go, until you are outbid of course. There will be a Premium Version available about the 2nd week of March and that will come with extra styles and more features. Stay tuned!
Give it a try, there are styles on the way, but right now there is only a default. You will also be able to adjust the frontend.css file that comes with it, but I only recommend this to those that have experience with CSS editing. Good luck!

Hi Sukosaki,
Just following commentLuv…
A great idea though, never thought about running an auction on my blog. Will give it a try in the future.
Cheers,
Alex
