Yahoo Pro Football Pickem Picks, Pools and More
This year is the 5th that I will be attempting to win a Yahoo Pro Football Pickem pool that people I know have set up. Basically, all that I have to do is pick winners each week, against the spread. Yeah, I know that it sounds so easy, but let me tell you about being a Packer fan….
This year, I thought that I would post my picks and see what others think of them. I am also going to keep a log of how well (or not) I do throughout the season. This way, if you are having issues coming up with a team to pick each week, you can bookmark this blog and check back to see who I chose as winners.
I am going to pick my top 5 winners each and every week. I am also going to keep track of my record vs. the spread. I would like to encourage you to return every week to see how I do this season. If you want you can leave comments as to how you did or if you used my picks to win in your pro football league.
Yahoo ProFootball Pickem Week 16
Well, I still haven’t been able to get a 10 pick week in this year. With teams like Green Bay and Chicago being so unpredictable, it’s hard to choose the winners, especially by the spread.
This week I had 8 correct picks and that puts me at a total of 111 picked right. I guess that isn’t too bad, but if you look at my picks from the past 3 years, this is my lowest count. I am going to have to pay a little closer attention to the “details” throughout the NFL if I want to get anywhere near the top next year.
At least, I might not have the 12 year olds on Youtube giving me advice!

Yahoo Pro Football Pickem Week #13
This week I got my picks in one time, by about ONE minute! I just cruised through them because for some reason, I forgot about the picks after I made my Turkey Day picks. So, this week didn’t look too bad, but I am not really sure about some of the spreads.
- Bal. vs Cin has a 7 point spread and I hate the 7 point spread! It can go both ways too easily. None the less I went with Baltimore and I will have to cross my fingers, since they are NOT at home.
- I also went with the New York Jets because I am confident in the team, as well as, Brett Farve. The spread is 7.5, but against the Broncos, I’ll take it this time.
Those are really the only two that I am eyeballing this week. It is a nice breath of fresh air from last week when you couldn’t count on all those points if you saw it in a dream, or John Madden told you it would happen.

Bad Week for My Pro Football Pickem Team
So, I just barely got my picks in before the first game on Sunday. I think the time was 11:50am when I finally clicked “save”. Whew! I really thought I had some sort of handle on the picks this week and the spreads didn’t seem all that hard to cover.
What do you think happened?
The first set of games proved to be my best. I had 2 points. Yes! Only 2 points after the first set of games. I couldn’t believe it and I knew this was not going to be a good week. Since I was among the top to challenge the person in the lead, I had to recover.
Without changing any of my picks I just sucked it up and went into the 2nd portion of the football day. And, I am sorry to say, I didn’t get a singel PICK CORRECT for the last half of the games. What a disappointment and now I am going to be in “catch up” “risky player” type mode just to see if I can finish in the money (top 2 only).
