Spammy Names Following Me on Twitter.com
Today I got 4 emails notifying me of 4 more people following me on Twitter. The account I use for this blog is at around 100 followers, but the account in question (for another blog of mine) has seen it’s fair share of spammy type names come around.
Before I can even get a chance to check out these “followers” they have been banned by Twitter. Well, at least I know that they are on top of their game. That is always a nice plus for a website that is this popular. It really makes using the site even easier and that is what it’s really all about.
Once you start to get spammers, bots, or whatever, the real users start to become discouraged in the site and will leave it eventually. I have also seen this in forums that I am a member of. Spammy questions, repeated questions, dead threads, etc, will kill a forum in no time. If Twitter wasn’t on top of their game, I would imagine the honeymoon would be over sooner than later there as well.
