Google PR Update, What is it you ask?
The Google Page Rank system has gone through an update recently. This blog was a ZERO and now, according to Google.com’s agorythm, it is now a PR 1. Yay for me. The blog is only about 3 months old, so it just tells me that if I keep up the good work, I am in for a successful blog in PR terms.
What is the Google PR (page rank) you ask? Here is part of the general description from the Wikipedia web site.
PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page’s value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves “important” weigh more heavily and help to make other pages “important”.
So as you can see, Google thinks my blog is important
Well, at least someone does and it’s nice to see that some people enjoyed it enough to link to it. Thanks to all of you that have done so! Hopefully the PR update didn’t do you harm like a lot of the “big guys” in the blogger world.
