How to Get Free Gift Cards from Walmart, Amazon, Target, Best Buy and More

This day in age we have the wonderful internet.  We turn it on and cruise around looking for this or that to entertain us through a boring time in the day.  Many people love to use the internet to find great deals on products they can save money on.  Comparison websites are a huge hit and for the most part, the internet killed the term “retail price”.  Another way that consumer pass the time is looking for free stuff on the web.  Free gift cards, soap samples, DVDs or even a coupon for a free Snickers bar.

Listia Auction Raffle SitePeople get into routines and wake up the same time every morning to enter contests and sweepstakes in hopes of being that big winner of the “$1000 Best Buy Gift Card” sweepstakes and to tell you the truth, those that put the time in, do win their fair share of free gift cards.  Recently, a co-worker of mine finally told me about a couple of web sites were I can find these so-called “sweepstakes” and he mentioned that I should always check the rules and sometimes you can even enter them once per day, upping your chances to win.  For the last 6 months I have made a regular habit out of searching for and entering random contests and sweepstakes found on these sites.  Currently, I have about 12 coupons for a free Snickers bar :)   Even though it is a little discouraging, I am not going to stop entering with hopes of winning.

This brings me to another topic.  I have found a site, sort of like an eBay variation, that allows users to “buy” things with credits they earn from “selling” there old stuff.  Do you follow?  If I put an old book that I am not reading anymore on the site and it sells for 1234 credits, I then ship the book to the seller (free or paid by me) and then I have 1234 credits to “spend” on something else on the site.  Pretty neat concept along the lines of “getting something for (almost) nothing”.  The website is Listia.com.  There you can find a TON of stuff that other people are willing to part with for more credits.

If you are still ready this, you might be wondering how to get FREE gift cards from this website.  WELL, the first thing that you can do is start to gather up all of the stuff that you do not want to trip over anymore, get pictures of it and put it up on the site.  As your auctions end and the credits start to pile up, you can now take those credits and “buy” gift cards through the site.  A LOT of people put up gift cards for Target, Walmart, Amazon and other popular web sites and store.  You can likely get a $50 Walmart gift card for about 100,000 credits, so that is not all that bad considering you got those credits for FREE by getting rid of the stuff you didn’t want around the house in the first place!

  1. The steps are easy and are listed below
  2. First, sign up for an account at Listia.com
  3. Then, go ahead and look around the site, do you see similar items in your home?
  4. Go ahead and put them on the site and wait for the auctions to end.
  5. Once you ship your items and the credits start to pile up, go back on the site and pick up a gift card or two for “free”.

It is THAT easy.  If you want to know how to get MONEY for your things, you could sell them on eBay, but that also costs you money.  One thing I like to do is get my FREE gift card off the Listia.com website, then go to eBay and resell it.  If you check out the Walmart gift cards on eBay, you will see that they sell for ALMOST full retail value.  I have even watched some auctions hit $151+ for a $150 Walmart gift card.  I KNOW it’s crazy, but it does happen.

If you want to know more about selling and buying on Listia.com, keep an eye out for my next post.  Thanks and if you have any experiences on the Listia site, why not post them below?
