Safety Guide for the Internet
With the amount of people on the internet rising every year, the dangers increase as well. For adults, it’s not as big of a deal as it might be for a child. That is why internet safety for children is so important. You can follow a couple of things closely with the ABC’s.
The ABC’s go something like this:
- A is for Adult’s Only – with over 4 million adult sites on the internet, you might want to be 100% aware of what your child is exposed to online.
- B is for Beware – computers are not the only thing that can access the internet. Many technology gadgets these days can get access to the internet wirelessly. Make sure you know what these items are and how they are getting access.
- C is for Check Often - make sure that you know how your computer internet filter works and if it can be bypassed. Most can be and sometimes it doesn’t take much.

Accountability software is a good software solution for adults and children. A filter is important for kids, to be sure, but accountability software allows a parent to monitor their children’s access and allows the parent him/herself to be held accountable to where they go online.
